ADJUSTABLE DIFFERENTIAL FEED
Even with stretchy fabrics like knits and georgettes, you can easily create professional-level finishes by adjusting the differential feed. This feature allows you to fine-tune how the material is fed through your machine and helps to prevent puckering or distorting. It works by making the front and rear feed dogs move at different speeds. You can also adjust the stitch length. Best of all, you can even make adjustments while you are serging.

Free Arm
Removing the auxiliary bed enables free-arm sewing. This is convenient for sewing cylindrical pieces, attaching sleeves, hemming pants, and more. Once you are through, you can slide the bed back into place.

EASY ROLLED HEM
The MO-80CB makes it easier than ever to do rolled hems. Simply set the seam width selection lever to R to retract the seam width claw, and you are ready to sew; no needle plate changes are needed. The edge of the fabric will be automatically rolled over, producing a very narrow, fine seam or hem. Roll hemming is ideal for finishing edges on all delicate fabrics, such as evening clothes, lingerie, scarves, frills, curtains, or napkins. Be sure to push the seam width selection lever as far as it will go in the direction of setting R.

Lay-in Type Thread Tension Slots
Thread tension should be properly adjusted to suit the various types of work. The ideal tension setting for most fabrics and threads is between 3 and 5. However, this can vary quite considerably when special threads such as filament, woolly nylon, buttonhole twist (cordonnet), pearl yarn, or decorative threads are used. Only use decorative threads in the looper. The thread must move easily and without resistance through the looper’s eye. Unlimited adjustments can be made from 1 to 9. To lower the tension, turn the dial downwards and rotate the dial upwards to increase the tension. It’s recommended that you tune the dials by quarter or half number increments, then test sew and check the results.

LED Lighting
The workspace is brightly illuminated with LED lights mounted above the needle. The long-life and energy-efficient LED lights will not heat up when used for a long period. Sufficient lighting helps eliminate visibility difficulties with certain fabric and thread color combinations, as well as reduce eye strain.

Cutting Width
Whether you want to make a bold statement or have subtle hems, the MO-80CB has you covered. To get the perfect loops, you may have to adjust both the cutting width and the tension of the looper threads. Changing the cutting width affects how close your cut edge of the fabric is to the needles, affecting how your stitches look. The adjustable cutting width is handy when working with very thick or thin fabrics, decorative stitches, and more.

Adjustable Foot Pressure
Increase or decrease the presser foot pressure by simply turning a knob for optimum feed of all fabric weights. Adjusting the pressure to lightweight, mediumweight, or heavyweight fabrics allows you to sew beautifully. Depending on the material, apply more pressure on lightweight fabrics to keep them in place below the presser foot. For heavyweight materials, reduce the pressure so the fabric can slide more easily between the foot and the needle plate.

2-Thread Converter
The included 2-thread converter attachment easily converts the machine to 2-thread sewing. This converter will come in handy when sewing a 2-thread roll hem and a 2-thread flatlock. Please note that the 2-thread converter must be disengaged when using the upper looper.

Lower Looper Threader
Threading the lower looper is one of the trickiest parts of preparing a serger for use. The MO-80CB has a built-in lever that makes threading the lower looper a breeze. This feature moves the lower looper to a more convenient spot so it can be easily accessed and threaded. Before threading the loopers, raise the presser foot so the tension discs are released.

Adjustable Stitch Length
The stitch length on the MO-80CB is easily adjustable with the accessible knob on the side of the machine. Adjust your stitches from 1 to 5mm millimeters. You can even make these changes while sewing.
